Danish multi-instrumentalist and musical director Gunnar Cleemann has created a unique solo project focused on the self-exploration of man. Supported by musicians met during extensive touring and local appearances working with Chicago Acoustic Underground and its label CAUDog Records, CLEEMANN has written, recorded and produced his sophomore album Different as a cross-Atlantic exchange. Playing with the ambiguities plaguing humanity itself, there is a song quite literally for any mood, with song titles reflecting the vast range of human emotion including “Indifferent,” “Stupid,” and “Generous.” With a passion for vintage instrumentation, lush orchestration, and cross-cultural references that connect Chicago with Copenhagen (including The Beat Generation and Monty Python), CLEEMANN adapts his delivery depending on the situation to create a one-of-a-kind performance that can’t be recreated. Rich in emotion and littered with contradiction, his shows are vital, appealing and never the same twice.
