Acid Mothers Temple

Upon hearing the title Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the viewer is left with no mystery about what the film contains. Such is the case for the music of Acid Mothers Temple: a droning storm of fuzz that thunders with walls of feedback like white lightning down the steps of a day-glow cathedral. As a collective (or soul collective to be exact) totally over 30 members, this expansive Japanese outfit approaches music with a mentality mirroring that of the communal 1960s. Drawing upon classic psychedelic sounds and aesthetics, their catalog takes deep voyages into the more tripped-out states of rock music with mind-altering noise, drone, garage and the occasional meadow’s-dew acoustic passage.
