Chemical Brothers

There’s not a lot to say about The Chemical Brothers that hasn’t already been said. Ed Simons and Tom Rowland have pretty much served as the forefathers of electronica since they started making beats back in the early ‘90s. Blending styles of progressive house, trip-hop, big beat and alternative rock, The Chemical Brothers were the first master maestros capable of bringing the electronic dance scene into the mainstream, selling out arena-sized venues and blowing up the international music festival circuit. With the release of their seventh album Further this past June, Simons and Rowland have proven once again that they are here to stay. Synth-driven bangers like “K+D+B” and “Swoon” will no doubt keep fest-heads on their feet as they headline the inaugural North Coast Music Festival on Friday night. Their set could quite possibly be the most memorable dance party Chicago has experienced since Daft Punk rocked Lollapalooza in 2007.
