Japandroids

Scoot over, Craig Finn. Japandroids are crafting anthems for the hipster dads who have just hit 30 and aren’t yet ready to branch into that phase of life called “adulthood.” No strangers to the many disappointments associated with thirtysomething life, the duo of Brian King and David Prowse nearly called their own band quits in 2008 after trying to balance their careers with the demands of a band that nobody in Vancouver listened to. But less than a year later, Pitchfork acquired the song “Young Hearts Spark Fire” and the previously disillusioned group suddenly found a massive audience. Emblazened with purpose, King and Prowse ran to the studio and returned with Post-Nothing, which was met with widespread critical acclaim and fan excitement. Three years later, King and Prowse continue to stun listeners with their brand of nostalgic My Bloody Valentine-soaked riffs and youthful fist-pump-worthy songs.
