Lo-fi hit makers Cloud Nothings began as the solo recording vehicle of Cleveland teenager Dylan Baldi. The uploading of two early songs “Whaddya Want” and “Cool Kid” led to opening gigs for indie pop stalwarts Woods and Real Estate. Along with an assembled band, Baldi put out the proper full-length Cloud Nothings in 2011. The following year saw the release of the much rawer-sounding, Steve Albini-produced Attack on Memory that opened the floodgates of acclaim. The singles “Modern Act” and “Internal World” from their forthcoming January release Life Without Sound hint at an expertly honed, more mature take on power pop.
