Intricate. Layered. Compelling. I’ve had the extreme pleasure of listening to the new album from this Chicago rock band over the past few months, which will be released sometime in 2017 as their first album since 2010’s Newfound Resolutions. And it’s safe to say this: sit down, pour yourself the poison of your choice and put the needle down on this masterpiece. The bass work from Patrick Morris (ex-Don Caballero) is on point but challenging in the complexity of each new song. Justin Sinkovich’s voice is aloof but brimming with a deep urgency that glides over his hypnotic guitar work. The tight drum fills and interlacing work from Adam Reach rounds out this dark and twisted album from the perfect band to see in the dead of Chicago winter, when the nights are long and darkness prevails.
