The New Deal

From the jazzier side of electronica comes The New Deal. This 3-piece from Toronto showcases a groove-driven sound in which electronic keys carry the tune forward while bass holds the songs together. They might be the most laid-back band at the festival, more atmospheric and ambient rather than dance-party freakout. With simple songs carried out with technical precision, it’s an engaging mash-up of jammy breakbeats and jazzy house. (Saturday, 5:30-6:30, Groupon Stage) –text: Steven Jaynes
