How in the hell does a Welsh indie group get the name Los Campesinos!? Eh, why bother ruminating on this when they have new tracks out? With new album Sick Scenes soon to be on the scene, everyone has time to memorize the lyrics before their show at Metro. The first single, “I Broke Up in Amarante,” is the finest form of pop rock with fun wordplay and a touch of angst, with the lyrics “it seems unfair” sung repeatedly throughout. The LP’s second single “5 Flucloxacillin” deals with infections of different kinds over soft “oooohs” in the background and offers a sense of calmness in the face of emotional calamity.
