The Psychedelic Furs might not be the biggest new wave band to emerge from the ‘80s, but their music arguably captured the mood and feel of the decade better than any of their contemporaries (thanks, John Hughes). The Furs haven’t released a record of new material since 1991’s World Outside, but they’ve been steadily and effectively working their healthy back catalogue since emerging from a decade-long hiatus in 2001. Still not sold? April’s show at Thalia Hall finds the band pairing up with another timeless alternative icon in Robyn Hitchcock.
