Funk yeah. When it comes to funkified electronic dance music, look no further than the French. We all know the robot rockers of Daft Punk, but there’s a lesser-known (and possibly better) duo, Justice, who you should get to know over some wine and baguettes. The French DJ duo of Gaspard Auge and Xavier de Rosnay returned to the wheels of steel late last year to release their new album, Woman. It’s their first studio album since 2011’s Audio, Video, Disco — and in case that album title didn’t clue you in, Justice are masters of electronic disco. Funky dance tracks are their specialty, and it’s contagious as hell. Singles from the new album include the silky track “Alakazam!” and the mesmerizing “Safe and Sound”. They spin tunes with more layers than yo momma’s yogurt parfait. If you can’t find a beat buried deep in their songs, you probably shouldn’t be dancing in the first place.
