With nearly 20 years under their belts, there’s no denying the influence of The New Pornographers. The band’s discography has enabled them to become one of the most notable indie acts of this generation. The band’s first four albums each placed in the top 40 on The Village Voice’s Pazz and Jop year-end amalgamation of hundreds of music reviewers and, from 2000-2006, either a New Pornographers album or a solo album from one of the band’s many members cracked the list. In addition to critical acclaim, the band has mastered the simplicity of poppy indie rock by mixing strong melodies with clear and crisp vocal harmonies and prominent guitar riffs to create an affable sound easy to listen to yet hard to find fault with.
