DAEDELUS

According to mythological Greeks, Daedalus was a craftsman and artist. According to musical geeks, modern-day Daedelus is a craftsman of production and artist of electronic-based songwriting. Alfred Darlington lives a quiet life in Los Angeles and has been quietly crafting some of the most outstanding music in the genre for decades. Though his life story isn’t quite as complex as the Greek Daedalus, the American Daedelus does have a thick history of building and molding multiple tracks that prove he is a mythical figure in his own right. Each track’s sonic outfit exchanges feelings of feathery fluidity, transitioning from heavy to organic to robotic and back again. The one-man DJ/producer has a catalog of over 30 albums and singles, with a collection of productions and remixes that should not be overlooked.

SCHUBAS

Liverpool indie rockers Circa Waves know how to move and shake a crowd. With model-quality looks, members Kieran Shudell, Sam Rourke, Colin Jones, and Joe Falconer have braved legendary festivals like Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds while supporting bands like The Libertines on tour. So comparatively speaking, Schubas will be a piece of cake for these dudes. They’re supporting their new record Different Creatures, which will easily blow of the roof off the place, but it’s warm out these days no one should mind too much. The title track of the new album is subtle and subdued, but “Wake Up” rises with a siren-like guitar riff and builds from there into a torrential rainstorm of rock.

BOBBY BARE JR.

But, unlike our current commander-in-chief, there are those who keep American roots and traditions alive with tact and grace. One of these people is veteran Nashville songwriter Bobby Bare Jr. With a humble approach to creating and sharing his music, the now 50-year-old singer/songwriter delivers art through his sweet crooning voice that captures the heart and soul of Americana. His father, famous country musician Bobby Bare Sr., passed his intense passion for outstanding lyricism and fantastic storytelling to Jr. Today, we need a Southern gentleman like Bobby Bare Jr. to reflect true American values in showmanship and art more than ever.
