ROGER WATERS
By Mike Milazzo
The hopes for a reunion of the original members of Pink Floyd departed with the death of keyboardist Richard Wright back in 2008. Original guitarist/vocalist Syd Barrett had passed two years earlier due to complications of diabetes after a lengthy and odd seclusion due to mental illness, no doubt escalated by his heavy drug use. However, primary songwriters David Gilmour and Roger Waters have managed to keep the spirit of Pink Floyd alive: Gilmour with his solo work and Waters with his highly successful performances of The Wall, complete with a giant video wall onto which creepy images are projected that would make Emperor Ming jealous. Although Waters may be aging, it seems that the political source material of The Wall is more relevant as ever. And the possibilities for Trump wall jokes are endless.
