Coming off 2012 with many critics including their album On the Impossible Past on that year’s “best-of” lists, you can say it’s been a good run for The Menzingers. Similar accolades were given to their 2014 release Rented World before the band spent most of 2015 touring throughout North America, Europe, and Australia. With such a hectic past few years (and a wide amount of success to go with it), it only seems fitting that their 2017 release is titled After the Party. The title seems to be a tongue-in-cheek reference to the fact that the band has received a lot of hype these past few years, and many may be left wondering if such a high level of acclaim can be maintained. Naysayers be warned: one listen to the new album’s title track is more than enough to squash any doubts.
