The fact that Swedish indie pop outfit The Radio Department are still a band today is largely due to nothing more than singer/co-founder Johan Duncanson’s sheer will to persevere. Duncanson formed the group in ’95 with Elin Almered while the pair were still in high school. Almered quit shortly afterwards but Duncanson assembled a new cast of characters in ’01 and has since steadily built a solid following at home and in the States with a smattering of infectious dream pop offerings ranging from 2010’s seminal Clinging to a Scheme to the recent masterpiece Running Out of Love.
