2017 is already shaping up to be a fruitful year for Robyn Hitchcock. His new self-titled record, due out on Yep Roc Records on April 21, is by his own definition “trippy.” That’s telling coming from someone who has made psychedelic rock, folk, and post-punk his calling card for almost 40 years. Hitchcock has already begun to eagerly hit the pavement behind the new record, having toured the East Coast and making a recent appearance at SXSW. He’ll co-headline with fellow ‘80s rock staples The Psychedelic Furs when he cruises through Chicago for a stop at Thalia Hall.
