The only person who hangs out at Lollapalooza more than the guys from Cage the Elephant is probably Perry Farrell. Riding their seemingly never-ending touring schedule, Cage the Elephant still found a way to record new album Tell Me I’m Pretty way back in 2016 (which seems like 15 tours ago.) It’s been an evolution for Cage as they’ve grown from the raucous rock of their first two albums into a more interesting but still incredibly catchy electronic rock tour de force, with notable help from Black Keys guitarist/erstwhile producer Dan Auerbach. Fans of early Cage can still rest easy, though, as Matt Shultz and the boys can still get as berserk as we’ve all come to expect. While we’ve long since lost count of how many times these Bowling Green, Kentucky expats have graced the Lolla stage, they always bring the thunder. And sometimes even the rain.
