Progressive U.K. pop savant/self-proclaimed “party girl” Charli XCX continues to bless us with waves of dance euphoria, emanating from her trademark bubblegum beats partnered with futuristic components that keep you on your feet. The 26-year-old singer/songwriter/producer knows just what her “angels” want to hear, and her ultra-relatable tunes range from beloved nostalgic True Romance-era anthems to new and original features with an array of diverse artists like Troye Sivan, SOPHIE and Lizzo. XCX has also become a voice in the LGBTQ community, using her platform to embrace inclusion. (She even hosted an exclusive pop-up event here in Chicago during 2018’s Pride celebrations.) 2017’s Pop 2 pushed intergalactic production to the max, and her forthcoming album Charli hits the circuit September 13. So whether it’s going back to “1999” or partying until “5 In The Morning”, Charli’s is a set you certainly don’t want to miss.
