Chicago-based artist Haley Fohr can do it all. At least that’s what it sounds like. Her ability to transition between multiple types of sounds and styles allows her to appeal to all types of people. Her latest project Jackie Lynn, a concept album about the eponymous drug dealer and her partner, shows off Circuit Des Yeux’s (or in this case, Jackie Lynn’s) penchant for electronic earworms such as “Alien Love” with its urgent layering and otherworldly vibe. “Franklin, TN” is like an electro-country song that somehow works with a guitar that sounds as fast as an outlaw’s feet mixed with synthesizers that shape the song into whatever Fohr wants it to be.
