In an age ruled by bubblegum pop and endlessly repetitive “make you want to stab your eardrums with a fork” lyrics, Cold War Kids have found a way to keep the blues alive during a period that seems to be taking more and more musical genius from us each time we turn on the news. A breath of fresh air in an otherwise floundering and highly unoriginal music scene, Cold War Kids have been committed to quality since emerging from the bright sunshine of Southern California way back in 2004. Perhaps they truly are the Cold War Kids…sent to save us all from this war on music.
