Usually when a respected rock band breaks up and the leader of the group releases solo stuff, it’s not as good because it’s the band, as a whole, that made their music successful. Evan Dando released Baby I’m Bored in 2003 and, yeah, it sorta stayed under the radar, but honestly whilst listening to these songs one can surmise why The Lemonheads were such a force until their 1997 breakup. It’s a bit of the blending of Dando’s voice along with the perfect backing sound that fits their vibe. Sans Lemonheads despite the band’s 2005 reformation, Dando will be in Chicago playing songs from BIB in celebration of its reissue.
