Formed in 1994 by college friends Matt Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard, Muse eventually put out their first album Showbiz in 1999. Bellamy’s haunting vocals layered over monster guitar riffs make it difficult to cram their sound into a box — and clearly they like it that way. Although it may be hard to put a label on them, Bellamy once described Muse as a “trashy three-piece” and it’s pretty safe to say that we can all disagree with that. With massive hits like “Supermassive Black Hole” and “Time is Running Out,” you would be hard-pressed to find a more generational-spanning act at Lolla’s 2017 edition. With over 20 years of music in their repertoire, their live sets evoke nostalgia and send chills down your spine. Bring a date, bring your bros, or bring your mom for an ear-pleasing set that won’t leave you too hung-over in the morning.
