Side project from The War on Drugs bassist Dave Hartley, Nightlands is a trippy journey through what you think would be an actual place in your dreams called The Nightlands. Hartley keeps the calm and gentle melodies of The War of Drugs but adds his own experimental touch to these slightly off-putting cinematic masterworks. His second full length, Oak Island, is a foggy mixtape where Hartley plays with reality and adds a sense of nostalgia with synth-pop beats and a robotic vocal delivery.
