An electric mix of emo, indie, rock, electronica and rap, Chicago’s own Serengeti is making himself known beyond his immediate environment. His last full-length, Kenny Dennis III (which completed the illustrious Kenny Dennis trilogy), fleshes out the character of Kenny and the journey through his life while showcasing Serengeti’s unwavering pride in being a Chicagoan. One of his popular songs “No Beginner” provides a nice introduction to his style, which is unafraid to make political comments in his lyrics while at the same time referencing Chicago sports and food like a true fanboy.
