If you’ve been looking for a musical experience that combines ambient and experimental rock with otherworldly falsetto vocals spoken in gibberish, Sigur Ros is the band for you. Not least of which being the simple reason that they are the only band you will find performing in a non-literal language called Vonslenka created by guitarist/vocalist Jonsi. One listen to Sigur Ros will show you that although unintelligible vocals do exist in many of their songs, they exist simply as another dimension to the already beautifully crafted world you are taken to by the underlying and at times complex instrumental work at play. Known for their soundtracks as much as their studio albums, the band is also highly renowned for their live performances, at times performing shows which allow fans to livestream and take full control of the camera. When all is said and done, no amount of words in English or Vonslenka can express what a beautiful cinematic adventure Sigur Ros can send you on with their music.
