Throughout 12 years in the public eye, Tigers Jaw has transformed from pop punk to emo to indie rock. Formed by Adam Mcllwee (guitarist/vocals) and Ben Walsh (vocalist) in Dunder Mifflin’s hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania, the public met their first album Belongs to the Dead in 2005, a scrappy debut recorded on a portable rig. After 2008’s self-titled studio album, their popularity suddenly ballooned. Their fan base remained with them through a third album, a split EP, and inner turmoil as three-fifths of the band later departed. After a rocky tour of fill-ins, the original members rejoined the lineup for two subsequent studio triumphs.
