If you were going to attend a summer pool party in Venice Beach, you’d probably hear Wild Belle playing softly over the speakers creating a chill, relaxed vibe. Natalie Bergman’s cool, hypnotic vocals wind and course over the psychedelic dream pop arrangements created by her brother Elliot. This brother/sister tag-team from Chicago play with fusion and experiment in sound, all while keeping their dreamy backdrop consistent. On their sophomore album Dreamland, Natalie channels the vocal stylings of Elle King on the song “Coyote” by howling the lyrics: “No use for faking / Pirates gonna try and take it / Drop me in the sea of blood / You can take my money and run / Down on my knees and begging.”
